As Australia’s Commonwealth Games Team gears up for Glasgow 2026, Australians are being encouraged to get behind our athletes through the Green and Gold Seats campaign.

The campaign gives fans a simple and meaningful way to show their support, helping Para athletes access the opportunities, preparation and pathways they need as they chase success on the world stage in Scotland.

Every Green and Gold Seat purchased helps Commonwealth Games Australia and Paralympics Australia continue investing in athlete support, high-performance programs and the development of future Para sporting talent.

Birmingham 2022 silver medallist Jaydon Page (Para athletics) said knowing Australians are behind the team provides a valuable lift as athletes prepare for major competitions.

“Knowing Australians are backing us through Green and Gold Seats makes a real difference. It reminds us that we’re not just competing for ourselves, but for the whole country, and that support drives us to perform at our best,” Page said.

Two-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist Jessica Gallagher (Para cycling) knows first-hand the impact of strong supporter backing, saying the connection between athletes and fans plays an important role throughout the high-performance journey.

“The Green and Gold Seats campaign is a powerful way for Australians to be part of the journey. That sense of connection and belief from home gives us extra motivation every time we step out to compete on the world stage,” Gallagher said.

Highlighting the role supporters play in the team’s journey to Glasgow, Commonwealth Games Australia CEO Craig Phillips AM said Green and Gold Seats is all about bringing Australians closer to the athletes representing them on the world stage.

“Green and Gold Seats gives Australians the chance to make a real difference to the journey of Para athletes,” Phillips said.

“Every seat purchased helps create opportunities for athletes to prepare, perform and represent Australia on the world stage, while sending a powerful message that they have the support of Australians behind them every step of the way.”

Paralympics Australia CEO Cameron Murray said the campaign is also an important way for Australians to back Para athletes and help create more opportunities across the pathway.

“Every Green and Gold Seat purchased helps support Para athletes on their journey to Glasgow and beyond. It’s a simple way for Australians to get behind the team while helping ensure our athletes have access to the preparation, opportunities and support they need to compete at their best,” Murray said.

The Glasgow 2026 Green and Gold Seats campaign is aiming to raise $250,000, with each $25 seat representing more than just a donation. It’s an opportunity for Australians to show their support for the green and gold, helping Para athletes and becoming part of the team’s journey to Glasgow.

The Commonwealth Games is the only major international multi-sport event that features a fully integrated Para sports program, with Glasgow 2026 to feature the largest Para sport medal program in history.

The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games will take place from July 23 to August 2, 2026.
